The General Call will be used to build programming from abstracts that did not resonate with any of our currently published CFPs. SAMLA will review all submissions internally, and accepted abstracts will either be placed on an extant panel or combined with other General Call abstracts to create new sessions.

The General Call will be used to build programming from abstracts that did not resonate with any of our currently published CFPs. SAMLA will review all submissions internally, and accepted abstracts will either be placed on an extant panel or combined with other General Call abstracts to create new sessions.

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee acceptance and placement, though we will work earnestly and diligently to place all abstracts.

Although there is no proscription against submitting multiple abstracts, each participant may present only one traditional paper per SAMLA conference.

Abstracts submitted to the General Call should be between 150-300 words, have a title, and include your name and affiliation. Professional email addresses are optional. If you are an undergraduate student, please make note that the abstract is for the Undergraduate Research Forum panels. The General Call will be open until July 31.
